#51, (part 1) St. Paul's Cathedral, Tower of London
Thurday started early after a late evening at the show.
St. Paul's Cathedral is known as the People's church (as opposed to Westminister Abbey that is know as the Royal church.
St. Paul's is 500 feet long and the dome is 365 feet high.
These crosses; there are two of them, represent the conflicts around the world
and the High Altar

Next a stone from the Wailing wall in Jerusalem, a tribute to Florence Nightingale
and the tomb of Admiral Nelson
As we returned to the bus, we passed thru Paternoster Square, where we found a bronze sculpture by Gillie and Marc, a scooter ridden by a endangered animals, meant to be humorous and to support conservation efforts.
Then off to the Tower of London, where, unfortunately, we had very little time because we overbooked ourselves and the time we had, we spent on seeing the crown jewels where you are not allowed to take pictures, First, the Ravens
I found this interesting. This next building shows one of the stone building with a wooden staircase.
The reason was, if attacked, the staircase could be set on fire
The handmade poppies are on display honoring the men and women who perished during the world wars
A Guard and a Yeoman Warder known by the nickname, Beefeater.And one very big cannonAll for tonight.
